Default Multiple Interface layouts

I've noticed in many of the old screenshots for guildwars (including the beta ones I took myself ) The layout (colors/shape) of the interface is alot different; I've seen three different ones so far while browsing pictures.

I personally like the old beta interface the best; perhaps include an option in the interface customization tool to switch between 3 or four different layouts.

*shrugs* just an idea; tell me what you think of it.

i like it, because im constantly changing my UI, and sometimes i miss some of the ones i got rid of....and unless i have a screen of it(which is rare, when i take screens i take the UI out)

For me it would just make everything look new and fresh once in a while; The different layouts give the game a bit different feel.

This is an old thread i know but i deffinetly think it would be a great option to be added, i've been feeling the same looking at some shots of the beta layout recently, and it would rock!!!!

I personally hate the round title bars of the new layous, I'd like the square ones back. Chaging between them is client-side. So having them all would be just a matter of choice and disk space.

Default Interface templates

So glad this is already a topic!

A long time ago I found a monking interface change/suggestion in the forum monking section. I used what I saw and have tweeked my interface a lot!
So I love my interface as I have it right now, for my monk. I have the option to "do not show tips on skill bars" selected because my skills are stacked vertically in 2 columns for ease of movement between party window and skills.

It really sucks for some of my other professions, and is even worse when I am experimenting with new builds or characters.

An example of profession specific variations is: I like my target skill warm-up bar nice and big when playing my mesmer - for interrupts, but really don't pay much attention to that when playing my monk.

Since we can save builds in templates can't we also have an interface template? Because changing a template is tedious - especially if you are a perfectionist like me and have to have everything lined up perfectly.

the current skin is trying to hard to be Sci-fi realy in my opion, but megh

and a note for Kayla Slays, you can use they keyboard arrows to move items on your UI which may make it easier to line them up as it works to a bigger grid

An option for a SIMPLE GUI would be nice, no contours just the icons.
im currently HATING the skillbar as i want to put it up vertically on the right hand side of the screen, but with that ugly roundish thing its just distracting.

Rezing this thread as it would have lead to this anyways.

Pretty sure that is an Ele or Necro, seeing as those are the skills on the bar. Might have been taken in first person.

Ther's an idea I have had for a while about interface layouts, so I'll explain it here :-)

When you change your interface, it's saved server-side so that when you play on another PC, you don't have to change it again.
But, the other PC might not have the same screen resolution (I play with 1920*1200, 1280*1024, 1024*768 and 1440*900 !) so we have to change the elements sizes and some other things.
Plus, I might want to have a layout dedicated to PvE, another to pvp, another to monking ...

It would be cool to be able to save the interface layout in a local file, as we do for builds and pvp equipment models.
The thing would be easy to do for example with an XML file
Quote:
<layout>
<element name="skill">
<position x="0" y="50">
<size x="100" y="500">
</element>
<element name="talk chanel">
<position x="200" y="800">
<size x="600" y="200">
</element>
...
</layout>
It would be realy nice !
